Political Correctness - Harms Children
Political correctness is one of the most insidious enemies we face. It means decisions are based on emotion - or 'received wisdom' - rather than the facts.
Under PC thought (an oxymoron in itself), almost all issues already have a 'correct' answer. In fact, there is hardly any need to think about any issue for a fully conditioned advocate of PC. The only 'thinking' they need do is to select which particular PC argument to wield in any situation.
As for evidence - well there is no need for any is there? The 'correct' answer to most problems is already given by PC thought.
To oppose political correctness is - by definition - incorrect! Most dangerously, the mere act of questioning PC doctrine exposes you to derision and automatic dismissal of everything you say as simply non-PC. The arguments themselves are totally ignored.
The PC lobbies have made themselves untouchable. No-one dare question whether the NSPCC is doing its job (and if they do, they are ignored); no-one dare questions that women are overwhelmingly the victims of DV (despite the evidence, which is simply ignored. It *must* be wrong as its not PC); no-one dares question the existence of a gender pay gap (after all, everyone 'knows' there is one, don't they!).
Politically correctness allows Judges, CAFCASS officers, social workers and all other sorts of 'expert' to accept (without question) that men are worse parents than women; that a mother's opinion counts more than a father's; and that a child needs a mother more than it needs a father. Evidence is not necessary. These views (or prejudices) must be automatically 'correct' because they are consistent with PC doctrine.
We must challenge PC thought at every opportunity if we're ever going to replace prejudice with debate about evidence. Of course, all major political parties are totally infected by PC thought, New Labour worse than most, this makes it almost impossible to reason or debate with them in the current climate.
Politically correctness is the enemy of truth and hence a major block to accepting the equal value of two parents to a child. Unless we challenge politically correctness, it will continue harming - and justifying harm to - children by eliminating any requirement to consider facts or evidence in any matter concerning their welfare.
Prejudice is perfectly good enough for the politically correct.
